Hi ladies. We’re almost ready to start our challenges for the spring retreat. I hope you are enjoying the tutorials that Robin has been doing. I love them! I am going to post all eleven (yes…11) challenges and we will start posting the examples on the 2nd weekend of February. I want to have guest designers with each challenge to show different ideas, so I’m putting a name or two by each challenge. Please play along with us and share your talents. Even if you can’t do each challenge, please try to post the one that you have been assigned. Or, if that really doesn’t suit you, just pick another and share with us. Please…feel free to do each one and email to Janell or Robin, and they will make sure they get posted.

1: Use dimensions of some type : guest designers: Sabrina and Julie

2: Use an animal print of some type; zebra, leopard, giraffe, etc: Cindy

3: Use a sketch- either pick your own, or I will be posting one. Please share your sketch if you use your own, as well as your example: Sherri and Sarah R.

4: Mix up your alpha’s. Create your own title from half use alphabet sets you have laying around: Marcy and Misty

5: Use song lyrics: Stephanie and Aubrae

6: I will post a photo (at least a week ahead of this challenge). Use it for inspiration- color, design, etc: Abbie Jo

7: G- Glitter

I- Irridescent

R- Rhinestones

L- Lace

S- Sparkles

I hope everyone will particapate with us. I’m expecting Janell, Danelle & Robin to help us out as much as possible also. I’m so excited about the up coming retreat….can’t wait.

I had a dream the other night that it was the day of the retreat and I had not packed one thing. Now that really is not too far from the truth. Most of the time I pack the night before. One retreat Lois and Jan had stayed the night before we left and they were waiting for me the next morning while I threw my stuff together. I woke up HAPPY that it was not the day of the retreat but still I feel a bit of the urgency to start getting ready. Now is a GREAT time to start my kit packing that was part of our challenges for the October retreat.

Our challenges for THIS retreat will be starting soon, and since a lot of you liked our first video we will be posting accompanying video to our challenges to help you! So watch for those soon!!

With the retreat coming quickly, the project we are doing is being finalized. I was thinking that it might be nice to have a video tutorial of that project here on the blog for those who needed a second look. Then I thought why not have a regular posting of tutorials? Should we make it a regular on the blog? I have made a quick tutorial that I am sharing with you in hopes that you will give us some feedback on whether you would like more. I would also like some feedback on what techniques or ideas you would like us to do!

So here’s the dates and deadlines for the Spring Retreat.
Dates: April 26,27,28
Registration Dates/Costs: Jan 3, 2012 – Feb 15, 2012 $105. Feb 16 – Mar 20, 2012 $120. To register you must either email 4girls or post here on the blog. Then as soon as your money is received either by Janell, Lois, or Robin you will have a guaranteed spot. ALL checks must be made out to JANELL AHERN, OR LOIS WOOD.

If you can not pay all at once you are able to pay a deposit of $60, and pay the balance of $45 or $60 by the respective deadlines.

If you cannot attend, after you have reserved your spot, you are responsible for the total cost, and you are welcome to sell your spot.

We will have a waiting list for those who may need to sell a spot, if you can not not find someone yourself. It is still up to you to arrange this transaction.

We hope to see you all there and be ready to get your craft on!
